Offer Teardown: how Meta packaged Muse for small business

A free core, an approval gate as risk reversal, and a 65-hour-week customer story. Five moves worth borrowing for your own agency offer.

Meta’s Muse for Small Business announcement is a compact lesson in offer design. Strip away the AI and you’re left with five moves any local agency or consultant can borrow.

We look only at what Meta published: the promise, the pain, the proof, the risk reversal and the pricing structure. Meta didn’t publish plan prices, and neither do we.

The five moves

  1. 01

    The promise is an outcome

“Give Muse a goal, like running your business or finding new customers, and it gets it done.” It names the job, not the feature list.

  2. 02

The pain is in the customer’s words

Meta says small businesses told it they’re “short on hours, not ideas.” It’s one line, and it’s instantly true for every owner.

  3. 03

The proof is a real person

A named grocery owner who works about 65 hours a week explains which roles Muse takes off his plate. It’s specific, local and believable.

  4. 04

The risk reversal is built in

“Nothing publishes, sends, or spends without your approval.” That’s the objection, handled before it’s raised.

  5. 05

The pricing structure lowers the bar

Free “for most of what people need,” with subscription plans for more. The entry costs nothing and the upgrade path is clear.

Your checklist

  • Rewrite your main offer’s headline as an outcome, in one sentence.
  • Add an explicit approval or guarantee line that answers your top objection.
  • Replace generic testimonials with one specific, named, permissioned story.
