Privacy and analytics

How optional measurement works on The Marketer.

Optional Google Analytics

When you allow analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand page visits, traffic sources, article engagement and actions such as opening the newsletter page or copying a client note. Optional analytics cookies help distinguish visits. We do not send newsletter email addresses, copied note text, account credentials, URL query strings or page fragments as custom event data. Google receives the network information needed to deliver its analytics service.

You can decline analytics, or change your choice using Analytics preferences. Google tracking stays off until you allow it. We honour browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Your preference is stored in your browser for up to 180 days. Declining later disables future Google tracking and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies; it does not erase data already received by Google.

Site performance and hosting

Cloudflare hosts the website. Its operational traffic metrics, and Cloudflare Web Analytics when enabled, help measure delivery and page performance separately from optional Google Analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy for their data practices.

Newsletter

Newsletter registration is currently unavailable. Disabled forms do not create subscriptions. Visiting the newsletter page is an expression of interest, not a completed signup. A data notice for any future subscription service will be added when that service is configured.

Your choices

The Analytics preferences control appears when optional Google measurement is configured. Declining optional analytics leaves the articles, navigation and copy buttons available.
