What GoHighLevel costs in Canadian dollars, what CASL still asks of your agency, and the A2P and Persona rules for texting from a Canadian number. Not a full review.

The short version: This page covers what's different about running GoHighLevel from Canada. For plans, features and the trial in full, read our GoHighLevel review. Three things matter most here. You pay in US dollars, so the entry plan works out to about CA$136 a month before tax at the Bank of Canada's Oct 22, 2026 rate. CASL still applies to every commercial email and text your clients send. And texting from a Canadian number now usually means A2P registration or Persona identity verification before the first message goes out.

How we researched this

On Oct 22, 2026, we re-read GoHighLevel's pricing page, CRM page, trial signup page, terms of service and its Canadian 10DLC help article. We captured the pricing page and the Canadian 10DLC table again on Oct 23, 2026. Its other help articles, and the CASL guidance from ISED and the CRTC, were read on Oct 16, 2026, and we re-checked the ISED and CRTC pages on Oct 23, 2026. We didn't open an account, enter a card or send any messages.

What it costs in Canadian dollars

GoHighLevel's pricing page shows a plain "$" with no currency label. Its terms quote account amounts in US dollars, for example a wallet top-up threshold of "$10 USD," so we treat the plan prices as USD (pricing page; terms).

PlanListed priceAbout CAD per month*About CAD per year, annual billing*
Starter$97/month or $970/year~$136.00~$1,360.04
Unlimited$297/month or $2,970/year~$416.42~$4,164.24
Agency Pro$497/month or $4,970/year~$696.84~$6,968.44

*CAD figures are our conversions, not prices GoHighLevel sets. We used the Bank of Canada daily exchange rate for Oct 22, 2026: 1 USD = 1.4021 CAD. Your card issuer uses its own rate and may add a foreign-transaction fee.

Usage is billed on top, from a wallet. Phone, SMS and email usage is charged separately from the plan (pricing page). The terms say usage fees come out of a prepaid wallet in real time. When the balance drops below US$10, the card on file is charged to top it back up. Unlimited and Agency Pro accounts are enrolled in rebilling automatically (terms). We didn't find per-message rates for Canadian numbers on the pages we read, so check them inside the account before you quote a client a monthly fee.

GST/HST. The terms say fees exclude sales tax, VAT and GST, and that HighLevel may add applicable taxes to your invoice or wallet. Businesses with a GST number are asked to provide it, and where the law allows, HighLevel may shift GST to you under a reverse-charge rule. Taxes on wallet spending are calculated after the end of each month (terms). We couldn't find a CAD billing option. Ask your accountant how to treat a US software subscription and its usage charges.

What that means for a small agency: if you start on Starter, budget roughly CA$136 a month for the plan, plus GST/HST if it's charged, plus usage, plus your card's foreign-transaction fee. That's our arithmetic from the figures above, not a GoHighLevel quote.

CASL: what the software can't do for you

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) covers commercial electronic messages, including email and texts. It requires consent, identification of the sender with contact information including a mailing address, and a working unsubscribe (ISED: CASL; CRTC CASL FAQ). GoHighLevel's terms put compliance with laws, CASL included, on you as the customer (terms).

As the agency setting up each client's forms, footers and texts, build CASL into every sub-account from day one:

  • record how and when each contact consented
  • put the client's mailing address and contact details in every commercial email and text
  • test the unsubscribe for texts as well as email

Check before you buy: how GoHighLevel stores consent records and handles opt-outs. We didn't find this on the pages we read.

Texting from a Canadian number: A2P and Persona

Whether you need carrier registration depends on where the text goes and when you bought the number. According to GoHighLevel's Canadian 10DLC help article (re-checked Oct 23, 2026):

RouteNumber purchasedWhat's required
Canada to the United StatesAny dateA2P registration
Canada to CanadaBefore March 26, 2025A2P not required for this route
Canada to CanadaOn or after March 26, 2025A2P or Persona identity verification

Figure 2: GoHighLevel's own route table, from its Canadian 10DLC help article. Captured Oct 23, 2026.

The same article says Persona doesn't replace A2P when a Canadian number texts U.S. recipients. GoHighLevel's phone-number purchase guide adds that Persona verification is required to buy an eligible +1 number if the sub-account isn't verified yet. A2P registration is done under Settings → Phone System → Trust Center, with a Brand and then a Campaign that includes sample messages and consent details, and carriers make the final call (GoHighLevel help).

What this means for you: a new agency buying Canadian numbers today is on the post-March 2025 rules. Plan for verification before any client's first text, and expect full A2P if any of their customers have U.S. numbers. GoHighLevel's help pages don't give a review timeline we could cite, so don't promise a client a launch date that depends on it.

The rest, in brief

GoHighLevel has three agency plans: Starter (3 client sub-accounts), Unlimited and Agency Pro. All list unlimited contacts and users. The 14-day trial needs a card and bills automatically at the end unless you cancel (pricing page; trial signup page). For the full plan comparison, features, trial details and who it doesn't suit, read our GoHighLevel review.

Before you sign up from Canada: checklist

  • Today's USD to CAD rate, and your card's foreign-transaction fee
  • Whether GST/HST will be added, and whether to give HighLevel your GST number
  • Canadian SMS and email usage rates, checked inside the account
  • A2P, Persona or toll-free verification for each client's numbers, and how long it takes
  • Consent records and a tested unsubscribe in every sub-account
  • A reminder set before the trial's day-14 charge

Verdict

For a small Canadian agency, GoHighLevel's sticker price isn't the whole story. It bills in US dollars, adds usage and possibly GST/HST, and texting from a Canadian number needs verification first. None of that rules it out. It means you should budget in CAD and plan compliance before you sign a client up, not after.

Start the GoHighLevel 14-day trial (affiliate link). It needs a card, so set a cancel reminder for day 12 or 13.
