Best Local SEO Tools for Agencies (2026): Pricing, Terms and Canada Notes

Disclosure: This page contains affiliate links to SE Ranking (/go/seranking). If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. It doesn't change our picks. Other tools are linked directly. We've asked Whitespark about its referral program. If we start using that link, we'll update this disclosure. None of these companies paid for this page or saw it before publication.

For agencies that manage Google Business Profiles, track map rankings and report local visibility to clients, and want to know how each tool bills before they commit.

The short answer

  • Whitespark: best if you want to buy only the local tools you need, one at a time, from an Alberta-based company.
  • BrightLocal: best if you want one local SEO platform (rank tracking, listings, reviews) priced by how many locations you manage.
  • Local Falcon: best if your main job is geo-grid map rank scans and you'd rather pay for credits than seats.
  • SE Ranking: best if you need local tracking inside a full SEO suite.

No stars and no scores. All four publish their full pricing and terms, which is why they made the list.

How we chose

  • What we did: On Oct 23, 2026, we read each tool's public pricing page (for Whitespark, its pricing hub and four product pages) and its terms. Sources are numbered at the bottom.
  • What we didn't do: We didn't open a trial or run a scan in any of them. Nothing here describes accuracy or how the tools perform in use.
  • What we left out: Review-site ratings, testimonials and customer counts that appear on some of these pages. We can't verify them.
  • CAD figures are our arithmetic at the Bank of Canada rate for Oct 22, 2026 (1 USD = 1.4021 CAD) [11]. None of the four showed us CAD prices.

Whitespark

Best for: agencies that want low-cost, separate tools for rank tracking, map grids, citations and GBP management.

What it does well. Whitespark sells its tools individually: "We don't believe in forced bundling" [1]. Its pricing page says it was founded in 2005 in Edmonton, Alberta [1], and its terms are governed by Alberta law with Canadian courts as the venue [5]. The Local Rank Tracker tracks Local Packs, Maps and organic results in Google and Bing, and offers password-protected share links and a custom domain for agencies [2]. Local Ranking Grids offers white-label shareable URLs, CSV and PDF export, and free migration from another tool on any paid plan [3].

Where it falls short. You build your own stack, so costs add up across tools. Prices are in USD [1]. The terms say fees are prepaid, renew automatically and aren't refundable. Whitespark can change fees with 30 days' written notice, and it collects "any applicable taxes" [5]. You can cancel at any time and keep access to the end of the period you paid for [5].

Pricing, checked Oct 23, 2026 (USD):

Local Rank Tracker (weekly tracking)$14 / $30 / $60 / $117 per month billed annually (100 / 250 / 1,000 / 2,500 location keywords). Monthly billing: $17 / $35 / $70 / $140 [2]
Local Ranking Grids$10 (2,000 credits) up to $200 (65,000 credits) per month [3]
Local Platform (GBP management)$1 per month per location, billed annually [1]
Local Citation Finder$33 to $124 per month billed annually; $39 to $149 monthly [1]
Reputation Builder$79 per month per location [1]

The Rank Tracker page also has a daily-tracking option. We didn't record those prices, so we don't quote them.

BrightLocal

Best for: agencies that want rank tracking, listings and reviews in one platform, priced per location.

What it does well. Three plans stack on each other. Track covers local audits, rank tracking for up to 100 keywords and four competitors, a geo-grid for up to five keywords, citation monitoring and GBP audits. Manage adds listing sync and GBP post scheduling. Grow adds review monitoring and review requests by email, SMS and in store [4]. The trial is 14 days, and the pricing FAQ says "No credit card is required" [4]. If you only need citations, you can open a free account and pay per citation [4].

Where it falls short. The price climbs with locations, and 100+ locations is "price on request" [4]. BrightLocal Ltd is a UK company, and its terms are governed by English law [7]. Charges exclude VAT or other applicable taxes [7]. Subscriptions renew automatically, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and paid charges aren't refunded for early cancellation [7]. Per the pricing FAQ, a downgrade takes effect immediately with no refund for the rest of the period [4]. The pricing page lists "White-labelling" in its comparison table, but we couldn't confirm from our capture which plans include it. Ask before you promise branded reports.

Local Falcon

Best for: agencies that run geo-grid scans to show clients where they rank on the map, block by block.

What it does well. You pay for credits, not seats or locations. One credit is one grid point, so a 5x5 scan uses 25 credits [6]. Keywords and locations are unlimited on every package [6]. Sign-up gives 100 free credits and "No credit card needed" [6].

Where it falls short. Monthly credits expire at the end of each month and annual credits at the end of the year. Pay-as-you-go credits cost $0.05 each and don't expire [6]. On the annual pricing table we captured, White Label Reports are ticked only on Premium ($199.99 a month) [6]. The terms say subscriptions renew automatically, payments are non-refundable unless the law requires otherwise, and Pennsylvania law governs [10]. The page doesn't label its currency, and the terms we read don't mention sales tax [6][10]. One more thing: the FAQ's credit totals differ slightly from the pricing table (for example 63,000 versus 63,150 monthly credits on Premium) [6].

Pricing, checked Oct 23, 2026:

PackageMonthlyAnnual
Starter$24.99 (7,500 credits/month)$299.88/year (90,000 credits)
Basic$49.99 (15,150 credits/month)$599.88/year (183,000 credits)
Pro$99.99 (31,250 credits/month)$1,199.88/year (383,000 credits)
Premium$199.99 (63,150 credits/month)$2,399.88/year (778,000 credits)

SE Ranking

Best for: agencies that do general SEO and want local tracking without a second tool.

What it does well. Both Core and Growth include 3 locations, a Local & Map Rank Tracker with 1,500 keywords, listing management across "100+ worldwide" directories and GBP posts [8]. Extra locations start at $18.40 [8]. The trial is 14 days with no card [8]. White-label reports come with the Agency Pack add-on [8].

Where it falls short. Local is one part of a bigger suite, so you pay for SEO features you may not use. Three locations go quickly at an agency with several local clients. The terms put sales taxes on you, refund only where service was poor and use California law [9].

Pricing, checked Oct 23, 2026: Core $103.20/month billed annually or $129 monthly; Growth $223.20 or $279; Agency Pack +$69/month, annual only [8].

Canada notes

  • Currency. All four price in US dollars or don't label the currency [1][4][6][8]. Budget for the exchange rate and your card's foreign-transaction fee.
  • Sales tax. Whitespark collects applicable taxes on renewal [5]. BrightLocal's charges exclude VAT or other taxes [7]. SE Ranking puts sales taxes on you [9]. Local Falcon's terms don't mention tax [10]. Ask whether GST/HST will be added.
  • Governing law. Only Whitespark's terms use Canadian law (Alberta) [5]. The others use English, Pennsylvania and California law [7][10][9].
  • Data location. We didn't review these vendors' privacy policies for this page. Check them before you connect a client's Google Business Profile.
  • CASL and review requests. BrightLocal's Grow plan sends review requests by email and SMS [4]. The CRTC says CASL covers texts as well as email. A message is commercial if one of its purposes is to encourage a commercial activity, and commercial messages need consent, sender identification and an unsubscribe mechanism [12]. If a review request also promotes an offer, treat it as commercial.
